Books, newspapers, magazines, audio books, music CDs, videos and CD-ROMs as well as information service, exhibitions and events. You have free access to the Internet – but do book time.

You can read or listen on the spot or take the materials home with you – borrowing is free of charge, but you have to be a registered library user. Bring your medical card or other valid proof of identity with your ID/CPR (civil registration) number, and we will issue a library card.

The lending rules, made by the Cultural Affairs Committee, are handed to you when you are registered as a user.

You can use all libraries

- e.g., you can borrow in one library and return the library materials in another, regardless of where you live in Helsingør Municipality. You can also visit our website and search, reserve and renew materials.

If we don’t have it, we try to provide it

The libraries in Helsingør Municipality work together and borrow from each other. In many cases, your wishes can be fulfilled at a day’s notice.

If the requested material is not available in the municipal libraries, we will search in public and research libraries in Denmark as well as abroad.

Information about your society

What is going on in your municipality, your county, in Denmark and in the European Union with regard to laws, regulations, planning and politics? We have the answers in printed or electronic media, and we help you find what you’re looking for.

We are the memory of the local society

People, places and events of past and present. The local history collection contains the history of Helsingør Municipality and Frederiksborg County in print. The collection is kept in the main library, it can be visited by everybody and also be searched through the Internet.
